What we collect, and why.

The readiness check

When you enter a domain for the free readiness check, we fetch its homepage, robots.txt and llms.txt once, from our servers, and compute the result. We don't store the domain, the result, or your IP address, beyond the request log Cloudflare keeps for security (up to 24 hours).

Snapshots and Track

To run a benchmark we need a domain, the questions you approve, and an email address to deliver the report. The frozen answers from the engines are kept as long as your report exists; they're the evidence behind it, so we don't bin them early. Payment runs through Stripe. We never see your card number. Ask us to delete a report and we delete it, along with its frozen answers.

Analytics

We measure the site with our own first-party script, stored on our own infrastructure. It records which pages are viewed, how far down each page you scroll, how long the page was on screen, the site you arrived from, your device size (phone, tablet or desktop), the country Cloudflare reports, which free tools were run and which buttons were pressed. It never records your IP address, your browser's user agent, an email address, or anything you type into a tool. A random id kept in your tab's session storage groups one visit's events together and is forgotten when the tab closes; there is no cookie and no cross-site tracking. The script honours Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track, and you can switch it off for this browser here:

We also log which AI crawlers fetch this site; that is part of what the product studies.

Email

The email address you give us for an order is used to run it: the link to your order page, the payment confirmation, and your report. Those emails come whatever you choose below, because they're part of what you bought. The free tools don't ask for an email address at all.

Occasional notes about the product are separate, and you have to ask for them. The Snapshot and Deep Dive order form, and the Track and Agency sign-up on our pricing page, each have a box, unticked unless you tick it, that reads: “Send me occasional notes about visibilitytoai: new features and findings. I can unsubscribe anytime.” Leave it unticked and we send you no marketing email. That covers people who use our forms; how we contact businesses we haven't heard from yet is set out under “Business contacts and outreach” below.

If you tick it, we record that you did, the wording you agreed to, and when. Once you've paid, we send one email asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent unless you confirm. The confirmation link works for 14 days; if you ignore it, we don't ask again.

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. It opens a page with a single button, and most email apps also show their own unsubscribe button, which does the same thing in one click. You can also withdraw by replying to any of our emails or by writing to [email protected]. Withdrawing doesn't affect the emails about an order you've placed. We keep a note of when you confirmed and when you withdrew, so we can show we had your permission and make sure we don't write again.

Business contacts and outreach

We sometimes email people at UK businesses about how AI assistants see their firm. These emails come from Jack Stovell at amivisibleto.com addresses. We only write to work addresses at limited companies and LLPs. Adapt Progress Evolve Limited is the controller of this data.

What we hold:

• your name, work email address and job title;
• your company's name, Companies House number and status;
• the results of a check we ran on your firm's public website, and what AI assistants said when we asked them questions about your sector.

Your name, work email and job title come from Apollo.io, a business contact data provider that compiles them from public and business sources. Company details come from Companies House. The website check reads only your firm's public website.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. Telling a business that it isn't showing up in AI answers, and offering to help, is relevant to that business. We only write to business addresses at companies and LLPs. We send at most two emails, a first email and one short follow-up, unless you reply. We've written down how we weighed this up and will send it to you on request.

If you'd rather not hear from us, reply “unsubscribe” (or just say no), use the unsubscribe link in the email, or write to [email protected]. We stop straight away. After that we keep only your email address and the date, on a do-not-contact list, so we never write again. Ask, and we delete everything else we hold about you.

If you don't reply and don't become a customer, we delete your details 12 months after our last email. We never sell this data. It's stored on our own servers in the EU (Finland) and in our Google Workspace mailboxes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email the address above. We answer within 30 days. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
